Who is Donna Valdes?

Donna was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. After attending a few boring semesters at University of Toronto, she moved to Florida and started a career in law as a paralegal.

She became the first Senior Paralegal III at a top firm.  She knew the struggles of maintaining a corporate job, choosing many times between family and her work. While the pay was excellent and she felt accomplished at work, she often compromised family time for her employer. Frustration soon set in, especially after realizing she hit the proverbial “glass ceiling”. Indeed, she reached the maximum capacity of her career and was faced with either being content in her current job, going to law school to become an attorney, or finding something completely new. Her entrepreneur spirit blossomed and she set out to find a way to make money from home without sacrificing her family's lifestyle. 

Donna's research led her to direct sales; where the income opportunity would only be limited by her belief.  She began her transition in direct sales, and she was asked to help lead up that company's venture online. She was part of one of the first internet committees to bring a direct sales company online. Her fascination with online marketing began well before the explosion hit. She also began learning and honing her skills of offline marketing.

In learning cutting edge social media and online skills, coupled with "old school" and traditional offline marketing efforts paid off big time and she was able to replace her full-time income and reach her goals. She built large organizations of thousands, her internet skills gave her the ability to research and connect to many international people and this resulted in creating a multimillion dollar business. Fourteen years later, Donna's down-to-earth nature, no-nonsense approach and humor have all contributed to make her a sought-after speaker in the direct sales marketing arena. Donna knows what it takes to achieve success.

However, Donna knew that diversity in uncertain economic times would be the key. She also enjoyed a good challenge.  Donna began Valdes Ventures as a general company that help her diversify her passions into thriving businesses.  In addition to her direct sales and network marketing division, Donna pushed the envelope to include other businesses that with the same end goal… to help others succeed.

Another passion of Donna's is helping others (particularly women) to reach their goals. She is the founder, and co-owner of Real Savvy Success.  RSS started in 2010 as a simple idea; help women who were a majority of most organizations, become a majority of their company's top income earners (which are mostly consisted of men).  Today, RSS is a generic training platform that focuses on the woman entrepreneur. RSS provides free mentoring and leadership training, as well as provides a positive community for others to thrive and grow and is one of the top women focused resources of the direct sales and network marketing industry.

Donna's latest business sent her back to her online marketing roots; Social Media Misfits. Recognizing many small business and business owners understood the power of social media, but really didn't understand how to utilize it for their business, Donna saw an opportunity to create a company that would freelance Social Media Managers which would provide excellent social media services at the fraction of hiring a full time social media manager. Social Media Misfits makes social media marketing affordable and accessible to business owners.  Services include social media reviews and audits, to technical set up, to profile management, reputation monitoring and more.
