Tip for making “Sticky” resolutions

post it note2 Tip for making Sticky resolutionsHappy New Year everyone!

Hard to believe how fast 2012 came up on me. What a year of incredible lessons I have had to learn, I also enjoyed some fantastic times and created a lot of memories. I recently read an article in SHAPE magazine (and yes, one of my 2012 goals is to read more about health) that really stuck with me on how to make effective "Sticky" resolutions… you know the kind that don't go away by Jan 15th…. so I thought I would pass on the tip to you.

The number one resolution is "To lose weight"… but a sticky resolution would actually break that down into a goal tied to an action step. "I will lose 20 pounds by not eating past 6pm".

Instead of saying "I want to get out of debt in 2012"… try making it sticky by saying "I will pay off my car loan early by paying an extra $200 a month"

You get the idea…. "I want to be financially free" isn't sticky…. try "I will at least 1 person a day to grow my business with 30 new prospects each month, to find one new business partner each month and help them to do the same which will create $10,000 a month at the end of 2012 to set me financially free".

Words are powerful OR useless. Learning how to set sticky goals, resolutions or intentions can make all the difference in the world to you. So, what are some of your sticky resolutions? Share below, leave a comment… love to hear from you.

Until later, see you next year!
